Going to University

Moving away from home to pursue university was hard, especially when I was moving from a rural country town to the beach with the city near by. This change was hard to get use to for the first bit of my time moving here. I moved not knowing many people who were going to be there and I was not that close to them. But I managed to keep going for I remembered I have some family still here which made this much better.

What I felt moving away was:

- Happy for new adventure

- Scared for what those adventures have inshore for me

- Terrified of failing but this was just of everything at this time in my life

- Grateful I was able to go and do this

- Sad because I new I would miss my family (at the start)

During my first year of university I started in a bachelor of business and arts. I liked it but did not know if this was for me. I was nervous to change for my friend were all doing this but in my second semester I started a bachelor of criminology and justice and psychology. I immediately found that it was not for me and started with criminology. after my offical semester was ending I know, again, that this was not going to be for me so I had to think during this semester what I wanted to do.

In the start changing my course was terrifying because I had no idea what to expect and I was way out of my comfort zone. Ultimately I helped me know and choose where I want to go within my future. While I was deciding I looked back at the courses I loved within my first semester and one stunt of which was media and I know a lot of people love this and try for it but it has been something that has stuck with me the whole way through my first year ending with me going into a bachelor of communications.

While in my first year of university I wish I had some one to tell me this:

- Don't take everything you think you need be practical

- Go to classes on campus when you can (especially in the first semester)

- Don't buy food on campus all the time (It's overrated and not cheap)

- Stay at home as long as you can (if possible) it is better in the long run

- Don't go to things you don't want to

- Study and do university work when you can (even if you go and do it with friends)

- Don't think about others opinions of you because in the end it's only what they think

- Wear what you want, if you want to get dressed up and wear heels or do something in your

style DO IT!!!

Just remember even if you fail at something doesn't mean it's over start again, you can only get better.
